What is the cost to compete?
$70 for the Rib competition and $40 for the Pork Tenderloin competition. The People's Choice competition is free; however, you must compete in the rib and/or chicken competition to participate.

Where is this event located?
The event is located at the Norman County Fairgrounds in Ada, MN. (503 W Thorpe Ave, Ada, MN 56510. Competitors line both sides of the "midway" between the race track and the Coliseum.  
Where can I purchase the raffle tickets?
Tickets for this year’s raffle ticket fundraiser can be purchased from any KTMBBQ representative, at McCollum Hardware or Kelly's Chrysler in Ada, or when you pre-register for the event.

How do I pay for my registration?
Venmo @John-Hintz-4, drop off your payment at McCollum Hardware in Ada, mail your payment BEFORE the event to KTMBBQ c/o McCollum Hardware 402 East Main St. Ada, MN 56510. Make checks payable to KTMBBQ. Or, pay in full on the day of the event. Registration must be paid in full before competing.

How do is sign up for the bean bag tournament?
Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m., and the tournament will start at 11:00 a.m. Pre-Register here.

Will there be power hookups or do I need to bring a generator?
Power is available on a first come first served basis. You will need to supply your own extension cords.

Is there a community feed or supper this year?
No, there is not a community feed. However, we invite you to come check out the awesome smoker setups and get a taste of the competition by participating in the People's Choice from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.!

Is the meat supplied or do we bring our own?
The meat for the rib and tenderloin competition is included in your registration and will be provided for you. No outside meat can be entered in these competitions. Additional racks of ribs are available for purchase for $20/rack. You will be allowed to supply your own meat for the People’s Choice competition.

Is a table or canopy provided?
Furniture and cooking tools are not provided for competitors. You are welcome to bring and set up your own.

Can I purchase additional racks of ribs?
Yes, you may purchase an additional rack of ribs for $20 per rack. No additional tenderloins will be offered. Please indicate the number of racks you would like when registering.

What are the minimum cooking temperatures?
All meat must always be covered and chilled before preparation and cooking. The minimum cooking temperature for pork products is 145 °F. After cooking, the meat must be maintained at a minimum temperature of 140 °F in a covered container until turned in to the judges.

Can I set up the night before?
Yes, you are allowed to set up the night before the competition between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Norman County Fairgrounds.

Who are the judges?
The contest judges are local representatives, most of whom have judged it in the past.

How will the contest be judged?
The contest will be rated on presentation (appeal, placement), taste (flavor), tenderness (overall bite), and appearance (color uniformity).

Is camping available?
Yes, camping is available at the Norman County Fairgrounds. The cost is $20/per site per night. Please pay when registering. All other guest may pay at the registration booth on the day of the event.
